Activities 2017-2018

Elementary Students: K-5

Academic Days - Academic Days are combined math, science, and writing workshops for students in Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Students meet on Wednesdays from 9:00 to 11:30 am. This class is designed to support what students are learning at home.

Performing Arts Fall - During the fall semester Pee Wee Glee, for Kindergarten through 2nd Grade and Dance to the Beat for 3rd through 5th Grade students is offered on Wednesdays from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm. Students perform at the December talent show.

Performing Arts Spring - Students, K-12th grade, wishing to participate in the spring musical will attend an information meeting in November and those interested in a lead role, will audition for parts (optional). Rehearsals for all involved students begin in January and are on Wednesdays from 11:30 to 12:45 and Fridays from 12:45 to 3:15. Some additional practices may be required as the production approaches.

Electives -K-5th grade elective wheel is offered each Friday from 11:30 to 12:45. Topics can include art, technology, and cooking, and Lego Engineering.


Discovering Science - This is provided by an outside vendor and is fee based. This Discovering Science workshop is hands-on science designed for students Kindergarten through 5th grade. Some projects take multiple weeks to build and test. Flyers are available in the office. The workshop is held weekly on Wednesday, from 12:45 to 2:00.

Middle School Students: 6th-8th

Academic Day - Science, offered on Wednesday at 12:45-2:00 and will be hands-on focus with an earth science emphasis.

English Language Arts, offered on Wednesday at 2:00-3:15 and will include two options, fundamental and honors. Regular attendance and on-going submission of assignments is required for the Honors Language Arts classes.

Math support is offered Monday and Thursday from 11:30-12:45. These tutoring times are open to middle and high school students. Students should come with their books and questions.

Leadership - Leadership is offered for 6th through 12 grade students on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the Parkview month from 11:30 to 12:45.

High School Students: 9th-12th

Biology and Chemistry Labs - All high school student enrolled in either Chemistry or Biology at Parkview are required to attend wet labs. Biology is held every Thursday from 9:30-11:30 and Chemistry is on every Friday from 8:15 to 10:15.

9th-10th Grade English Language Arts - Students will read from multiple sources and develop synthesis essays with a strong thesis. Regular attendance and on-going submission of assignments is required for class. Class is held on Fridays from 10:15-11:30

11th-12th Grade English Language Arts - Students will read from multiple sources and develop synthesis essays with a strong thesis. Regular attendance and on-going submission of assignments is required for class. Class is held on Fridays from 10:15-11:30. This class will focus on preparing students for college level courses.  

Math support is offered Monday and Thursday from 11:30-12::45. These tutoring times are open to middle and high school students. Students should come with their books and questions.

Spanish - Spanish Class is on campus every Wednesday from 12:45-2:00 and on-line.

Leadership - Leadership is offered for 6th through 12 grade students on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the Parkview month from 11:30 to 12:45. Students host our spirit day activities quarterly.
